About Aphasia Support
Aphasia Support is a registered charity founded by people with aphasia and their carers.
Originally known as Speak with IT, we were established in 2011 by a group of Yorkshire residents who faced challenges accessing speech and language therapy for themselves or their loved ones. United by their lived experiences, they came together to form a committee and set up the charity with a clear mission: to create a world where every person with aphasia has access to support and can communicate with confidence.
At Aphasia Support, everything we do is focused on improving the wellbeing of people with aphasia and their carers. We provide free tailored speech and language therapy and long-term support, helping people rebuild their confidence, independence, and quality of life.
