Support for Carers in Blackburn

Support for Carers in Blackburn

We are thrilled to announce an exciting new partnership that will bring even more support to our Blackburn Aphasia Café.

We’ve teamed up with Brain Health Breakthrough CIC, a not-for-profit organisation founded in 2018 that specialises in supporting people with complex health conditions. Their expertise extends to carers of long-term neurological conditions, including aphasia, as well as those living with energy-limiting illnesses such as Long COVID and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS).

What sets Brain Health Breakthrough CIC apart is their experience-led approach. They are passionate about breaking down barriers and creating safe, inclusive spaces where people feel truly heard and understood.

As part of this collaboration, Brain Health Breakthrough will be joining our Blackburn Aphasia Café to provide support specifically for carers of people with aphasia. This partnership recognises that communication challenges impact whole families, not just individuals. Together, we aim to provide guidance, understanding, and a strong community of care for those who give so much of themselves every day.

Their core values – Innovation, Trust, and Empowerment – align perfectly with our mission at Aphasia Support. There is so much strength in collaboration, and we can’t wait to see the positive impact this new initiative will have for both people with aphasia and their families.

If you live locally to Blackburn, please consider joining or supporting our weekly Aphasia Cafe at Ewood Park (Community Wellbeing Hub). Click here to find out more!
